The company set Sept. 2 as the opening date for the new restaurant at 10321 Katy Freeway

HOUSTON — Katz’s Deli & Bar, the New York-style restaurant known for operating 24/7, is preparing to open its new Memorial City location, marking its fifth expansion in Greater Houston.
The company set Sept. 2 as the opening date for the new restaurant at 10321 Katy Freeway, at the corner of Katy Freeway and Benignus Road.
The new 5,260-square-foot restaurant was expected to cost $3 million to build out and also has a 1,000-square-foot patio, according to a filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation last year. The restaurant was designed by Austin-based Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, the filing said.
TDLR filings are preliminary and are often subject to change.
On opening day, Katz’s Memorial City location will host a symbolic “key-cutting” ceremony, tossing the keys — and maybe the lock — to honor its round-the-clock commitment to serving the community day and night, the company said.
